Duncreggan House PLEASE NOTE: our reviews were given when the house was run as a B&B and it is now available for self-catering only.
“Fabulous views, huge bedroom and a wonderful breakfast. The honesty bar in the lounge is a great bonus. Buses stop almost right outside and can be used for day trips if you don’t fancy driving.”.
“Welcoming hosts who were very generous with their time and answered countless questions about the property and locality. A fascinating Victorian house to stay in, with just a hint of intrigue surrounding its use by the US Navy allies during 1960’s and ’70’s Polaris fleet era – who was watching who was watching when etc etc.Generous breakfast portions and huge choice, including home made jams, marmalades, breads etc.”
“We had an extremely comfortable stay at Duncreggan House. It’s in a gorgeous location, with stunning views of the Firth of Clyde.
The breakfasts were delicious and generous, with home made bread and jam, fresh fruit, eggs any way you wish!
The owners are wonderful and full of local knowledge. The only small issue is that we felt a bit cold in our bedroom, and we think that this is possibly due to a fault in the radiator. But it was not a real problem because we were happily able to warm up by the huge fireplace in the sitting room in the evenings!
A really nice stay…highly recommended. “
Really enjoyed the stay with Mick and Susannah. First time staying. comfortable rooms, good facilities, lovely welcome, excellent breakfast. Very good value for money we felt. What a bed and breakfast should be. Thank you very much – we’ll be back?!
Now I think considered a regular here! See my previous reviews! Another great stay at Duncreggan House.
Difficult to know what to add other than to say that on top of the things you should be able to expect from a great B&B stay – spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms, a good shower, comfortable bed and a great breakfast,
Duncreggan goes that extra mile – wine and iced water in my room, fresh milk for tea, breakfast served on china with silver cutlery and crystal glasses with nice linen napkins…..and this is a country house setting with comfy lounges and an honesty bar for a relaxed drink in the evening… Great!
I can only repeat the perfect reviews already submitted. Duncreggan House and its owners exude a lovely, make yourself at home, put your feet up, take a load off atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere.
